Trained to Perform. Accountable to Deliver
At MK Facility Group, we recognise that the quality of any facility service ultimately depends on the people delivering it. That’s why training, clear expectations and accountability form an important part of our service model.
Our approach is designed to ensure personnel understand not only what needs to be done, but how it should be done, why it matters and the standard expected of them. From initial onboarding and site-specific inductions through to ongoing supervision and performance reviews, we work to create a culture where responsibility and professional standards are taken seriously.
Structured Onboarding & Induction
Before commencing work, personnel are introduced to MK Facility Group’s expectations around professionalism, conduct, safety, communication and service quality.
Depending on the site and scope of work, onboarding may include cleaning procedures, equipment operation, chemical handling, PPE requirements, incident reporting, security protocols and client-specific requirements.
____________
Equipment & Chemical Training
Cleaning equipment and chemicals must be used correctly to protect personnel, building occupants, surfaces and property.
Our approach includes ensuring personnel understand appropriate product selection, manufacturer instructions, dilution requirements where applicable, safe storage, equipment operation and the importance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
____________
Compliance & Credential Verification
Where a particular facility or scope requires specific checks, licences, inductions or credentials, these requirements can be verified before personnel are assigned.
Depending on the environment, this may include requirements such as Working with Children Checks, police checks, White Cards, site inductions or other client-specific documentation.
____________
Site-Specific Training
Every facility presents different challenges. An office environment may have very different requirements from a medical facility, school, childcare centre, strata property or construction site.
Where required, personnel receive site-specific instructions covering access procedures, restricted areas, cleaning frequencies, high-priority areas, security requirements, hazards and the agreed scope of service.
____________
Professional Conduct
Our personnel represent both MK Facility Group and the facilities in which they work. We therefore place strong emphasis on professional behaviour, presentation, confidentiality, respect for occupants and appropriate conduct while on site.
This is particularly important when operating within sensitive environments such as healthcare, education, childcare and professional workplaces.
____________
Corrective Action & Retraining
When an issue is identified, our focus is not simply on fixing the immediate problem. We aim to understand why it occurred and what can be done to reduce the likelihood of it happening again. This may involve additional instruction, retraining, clarification of the scope, closer supervision or changes to service procedures.
____________
Safety & WHS Awareness
Personnel are expected to work in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety requirements and MK Facility Group procedures.
Training and site inductions may cover hazard identification, safe manual handling, chemical safety, appropriate PPE, equipment use, signage, slip and trip prevention and incident or hazard reporting.
____________
Performance Monitoring
Training doesn’t stop once someone has been assigned to a site. Service performance can be monitored through quality inspections, client feedback, supervisor observations and reviews against the agreed scope of work.
Where standards are not being achieved, we aim to identify the cause, provide guidance or additional training where appropriate and implement corrective actions.
____________
Ongoing Development
Standards, equipment, client expectations and workplace requirements continue to evolve. We encourage ongoing learning and regularly review our procedures to identify opportunities to strengthen service delivery.
Our objective is to develop personnel who understand that professional cleaning is not simply about completing tasks — it is about safety, consistency, responsibility and pride in the work being delivered.
____________
Clear Roles & Responsibilities
Accountability begins with clarity. Our personnel are provided with clearly defined responsibilities so they understand what is expected during each service.
Cleaning schedules, task requirements and periodic duties can be established to help minimise uncertainty, missed tasks and inconsistent service delivery.
____________
Individual Accountability
We encourage personnel to take ownership of the areas and responsibilities assigned to them.
If an issue, hazard, damage or service concern is identified, personnel are expected to report it through the appropriate process rather than simply leaving it for the next service. This helps create a culture of ownership rather than assumption.
____________
The MK Standard
Train properly. Set clear expectations. Monitor performance. Take ownership. Continuously improve.
At MK Facility Group, accountability is not about finding fault — it is about creating a professional culture where everyone understands the standard, takes responsibility for their role and works together to deliver a consistently high-quality service.
____________

The MK Training & Accountability
The objective is simple: every person representing MK should understand the environment they are working in, the standard expected of them and their responsibility for maintaining that standard.
____________
01. Pre-Employment & Contractor Verification
Before personnel are assigned to suitable facilities, we aim to verify relevant documentation, experience and site requirements. Depending on the position and facility, this may include:
-
Identity and right-to-work requirements
-
Relevant experience and competency
-
Police checks where requiredWorking with Children Checks where applicable
-
White Card requirements for construction environments
-
Relevant licences or certifications
-
Insurance documentation for subcontractors
-
Site-specific compliance requirements
This helps us assign appropriately qualified and prepared personnel to each environment.
____________
02. MK Service Induction
Personnel are introduced to the standards expected when representing MK Facility Group.
Our induction framework can cover professional conduct, presentation, communication, confidentiality, client property, cleaning standards, reporting responsibilities, safety expectations and escalation procedures.
We want our people to understand that they aren’t simply completing cleaning tasks — they are representing our business inside our client’s facility.
____________
03. Site-Specific Induction
We recognise that no two facilities are the same. Before commencing at a new site, personnel can be briefed on the specific requirements of that facility, including:
-
Site access and security procedures
-
Alarm, key and access requirements
-
Emergency procedures
-
Known hazards and restricted areas
-
Agreed cleaning scope
-
Cleaning frequencies
-
High-priority and high-traffic areas
-
Waste disposal procedures
-
Chemical and equipment requirements
-
Client-specific instructions
-
Reporting and communication procedures
This helps reduce assumptions and establishes expectations from the beginning.
____________
04. Task & Equipment Competency
Personnel should understand how to perform the tasks assigned to them safely and effectively.
Where relevant, this can include instruction in commercial vacuuming, mopping systems, floor-care equipment, cleaning machinery, microfibre systems, chemical application, waste handling and other equipment required for the facility.
Personnel should not be expected to operate specialised equipment without appropriate instruction or demonstrated competency.
____________
05. Chemical Safety & SDS Awareness
Commercial cleaning can involve chemicals that require appropriate handling.
Our training approach reinforces the importance of following product instructions, understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS), correct dilution where applicable, appropriate PPE, safe storage and never mixing incompatible chemicals.
This protects our personnel, clients, building occupants and the surfaces being maintained.
____________
06. Management Oversight
Accountability must apply at every level of the organisation. Our cleaners and service personnel are responsible for completing their assigned work, while MK Facility Group remains responsible for managing the client relationship, monitoring service expectations and responding when something requires attention.
We don’t believe clients should have to repeatedly chase individual cleaners to have an issue resolved.
____________
07. Client Feedback Loop
Our clients play an important role in our quality system. Feedback provides valuable insight into how the service is performing from the client’s perspective.
Where feedback identifies an opportunity for improvement, it can be communicated to the relevant personnel and incorporated into future training or service procedures.
