Permanent marks, scratches, paint defects, damaged glass, etched surfaces, or other pre-existing construction imperfections may not be removable through cleaning alone. Our three-stage post-construction cleaning process is designed to work alongside the final phases of your project — progressively removing construction debris, fine dust, trade residue and presentation marks as the site moves towards completion.
From the first major clean through to the final handover, each stage has a specific purpose, helping builders maintain a cleaner, safer and more organised site while reducing the amount of contamination carried into completed areas.
01. Initial Rough Clean
Clearing the Build. Preparing the Site. The Initial Construction Clean begins once major construction activities have been substantially completed and the site is ready to transition into its finishing stages.
This first clean focuses on removing the heavier accumulation of construction dust, loose debris, packaging and general building residue left behind throughout the construction process.
Floors are thoroughly vacuumed or swept, accessible surfaces are cleared and cleaned, and completed areas begin to be brought back to a manageable condition.
Particular attention is given to areas where construction dust has accumulated, including floors, corners, ledges, window areas, cabinetry and other horizontal surfaces.
Where included within the agreed scope, our team can also assist with the removal of stickers, protective coverings and light building residue from suitable surfaces.
The objective: establish a cleaner working environment and create the foundation required for the more detailed cleaning stages to follow.
02. Comprehensive Constructive clean
Stage Two is the most comprehensive part of the cleaning process and is where the property begins to take on its finished appearance.
Our team works systematically through completed areas, targeting the fine construction dust and residue that can settle across virtually every surface during a build.
Attention is given to skirting boards, doors and frames, cabinetry, joinery, shelving, benchtops, fixtures, fittings, switches, power points, ledges, window frames, tracks and other detailed surfaces.
Kitchens, bathrooms, amenities and other wet areas receive a thorough clean, while internal glass and accessible windows can be cleaned as required within the project scope.
Floors are vacuumed thoroughly to capture fine dust before being appropriately cleaned according to the flooring material.
We also address suitable construction-related marks, fingerprints, light adhesive residue and presentation imperfections where they can be safely removed without damaging the finished surface.
Because newly completed surfaces can require different cleaning methods, consideration is given to the material, manufacturer’s requirements and condition of each area before cleaning.
The objective: remove the fine detail left behind by construction and transform the site from a completed build into a professionally presented property approaching handover.
03. Handover Clean
The Final Handover Clean is completed as close as practical to handover, once construction activity and major trade movement have finished.
Even after a detailed clean, contractors completing defects, inspections and final adjustments can reintroduce footprints, fingerprints, dust and surface marks. Stage Three provides the final presentation clean required to bring the property back to handover standard.
Our team completes a final walkthrough of the agreed areas, addressing remaining dust, floors, glass, fixtures, fittings, benchtops, cabinetry exteriors, kitchens, bathrooms, entrances and other high-visibility surfaces.
Floors receive their final vacuum and/or mop, glass and reflective surfaces are checked for presentation marks, fixtures are polished where appropriate, and touchpoints are cleaned to ensure the property presents professionally.
Rather than simply repeating the previous clean, this stage is focused on inspection, presentation and final detailing — identifying the small things that become noticeable once the building is otherwise complete.
The objective: leave the project clean, polished and professionally presented for the builder’s final inspection, client walkthrough or handover.
